Click to enlargeCan You Give Me 15 Minutes?

These pictures were taken this spring when Kris and John Driessen, who own Hickory Hill Quilts, brought the infamous Quilt Bus on a detour to Flint, Michigan to treat my newest quilters to a shopping spree. The Dreissen family has since suffered a terrible loss. Their home and business burned to the ground on July 23rd.

We can help ease their way. If you have 15 minutes to spare, please consider sending me a block or two for a heart quilt. As soon as they purchase their bed, we'll know what size to make it. Leftover blocks? No problem. The kids need quilts too. EVERYTHING was lost.

l Your block should measure 6½ inches square, raw edge to raw edge when you ship it to me.

l Use ANY COLOR 100% pre-washed cotton fabric you like. Brights preferred.

l ANY SHAPED HEART is welcome. The more diversity the better. Wobbly, misshapen, peculiar-looking hearts cut with a dull pair of scissors held in your NON-dominant hand and stitched without your glasses are all expressions of caring and love. No whining. You can do this!

l ANY TECHNIQUE is acceptable except HOT GLUE GUN or PUFF PAINT. You may strip piece, paper piece, traditionally piece, irrationally piece, hand appliqué, foot appliqué, machine appliqué, fuse, snippit, rippit, flipit, just stick it in an envelope and mail it to:
