You'll need two yards of fabric total, one yard each of two complimentary fabrics, but you'll make TWO pillowcase! In this example I picked Blueberries and Strawberries.
Step 1: Fold each piece of fabric right sides together, selvage edges even. Stack both pieces of fabric one on top of the other with the folds even. From this fabric cut four rectangles measuring 32" by approximately 22" You will cut off the fold and the selvage edges. (If you have skinny fabric with fat selvage edges, don't worry about the 22" dimension. It can be a little less.)
Step 2: Take one rectangle of each fabric, place them right sides together, raw edges even, and sew two long sides and one short side with a ¼" seam allowance. Zigzag seams.
(Repeat with the remaining rectangles to make second pillowcase.)
Step 3: To hem, fold under opening of each pillowcase ¼" to wrong side and press. Fold ¼" again and stitch close to first fold to finish pillowcase.
Step 4: Turn both pillowcases right side out. You'll have two identical pillowcases that can be mixed or matched as you desire. Press, fold, wrap, and give! (Or keep one for yourself.)
