To Make
A
Prize-Winning
Quilt

Over the years I've made some horrible mistakes. Hopefully I can pass on some tips on what NOT to do! You'll see an assortment of quilts, from the very first to the more recent and I'll pick them apart before your very eyes! Topics covered include Cutting On Sewing Lines, “Mystery Batting,” Bedsheets For Backing, Pre-Washing is a Waste of Time, and the “Jam & Cram” Method of Binding Attachment.

If any of this sounds familiar, this is the lecture that birthed my book of the same name. (Years ago this lectures had been called "Don't Make The Same Mistakes I Did.")

This How NOT To Make A Prize-Winning Quilt is presented in two ways: "slides" (about 60 minutes) and real quilts (about 90 minutes). I recommend the former for large groups as it is definitely easier to see all the mistakes I've made, and the later for small groups. I ALWAYS bring quilts with me. If you have a large group (slides recommended) and really want to see more quilts than I can stuff in my carry-on, give me a shipping allowance and you can have your cake and eat it too.
