My friend Kim and I decided to partner in making memory quilts (I'm the photographer, she's the seamstress), so I wrote to one website asking for advice. The respondent's curt reply was that we were 'competition' and that she 'couldn't help us'. Boy, I wish she could see this quilt.

Entitled "I'M GOING TO FINISH THIS THING TONIGHT IF IT KILLS ME," it features an old red woven blanket backed by that polar-fleece type stuff they sell in fabric stores (on which I actually blew $12). The highlight is the skilled embroidering of the heart motifs on the top border. I never knew I could do such fine embroidery!!! Having run out of burgundy thread while embroidering one of the hearts, I simply changed colors and forged ahead

Encouraged by my success, I've created a photo collage of the quilt which will 'blow all my competition away'. Seamstresses beware. 'Debra's Blankies' is a force to be reckoned with!
