Just wanted to send you a picture of my quilt from the class I took in Shipshewana with you. I am going to give it to my son. I quilted it myself on my sewing machine (which is a big deal for me) and in the border I put hidden messages for him:
A son holds your hand for a short time but holds your heart for a lifetime.
God blessed you with wonderful, loving, really cool parents and a great brother.
(Never hurts to remind them, I think.)
Have you called your Mother lately?
You are loved
(This goes all the way around the border. I quilted it in brown to match the material and as a mom with lots of hope in my heart I know some day he will figure out there is writing in the border and exactly what it says.)
I am sending it to him for Christmas as he has been hinting, not too subtly, that every one has a quilt but him. I also not too subtly told him if he would come home more to visit we could go pick out material for a quilt for him.
I know he will love it. Thanks again for a fun class.
This quilt was made with the Twisted Sisters Rotary Template & Pattern
