I finished my "Michigan Mink" a few days before heading off to the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza XI in Fort Washington. Wore it every day while there. It was really fun to make, took me about 4 nights to finish it. While at Fort Washington, I had many, many compliments on the jacket. Judi Gunter says "Hi Ami". One of the teachers complemented me on my color choice, said I have an eye for arranging the colors. (All I did was grab strips to add on, just didn't want too many of the same in one place. But I didn't tell her that, just thanked her with a smile.) I used the batiks from WallMart, they have a bit of gold going through them. Had 7 different fabrics ranging from light to dark. At the show, people were always coming up to me and feeling the jacket and asking how can they make one too. Just gave them your name and website and said "You can order the pattern from Ami Simms." Hopefully, you will be getting lots of orders now. LOL
I am sending you two pictures (front view and back view) of me in my "Michigan Mink". I love it and will wear it with pride!. Thank you for your wonderful patterns and sense of humor.
