I went to visit my friend Susan after her mother died and I didn't want to come empty handed. I took a 100-foot length of clothesline and zigzaged it together with variegated thread.
If you follow the clothesline from the rim (go left) you'll see that it sneaks into the inside of the bowl. I hadn't noticed the "miss" until the bowl was out of the machine and I didn't feel like resewing the the coils I had missed.
Errors can be gifts. I love how the rope ducks in what looks like an intentional opening and then flows around the outside of the bowl. I plan on making another bowl with skipped stitches in more than one place. I'm all excited.
Don't the clementines look delicious?
