Our church has a camp, called Lutheridge, located in Arden, NC. It's just outside of Asheville, in the mountains. Lutheridge has been a big part of our family's life as we raised our children, now aged 26 and 22! Not only were our children campers there for at least one week every summer
since they were in the third grade, but they were also counselors after they graduated from high school!
Lutheridge is a spirit-renewing place set apart, for all ages; my adult daughter and I attend retreats there together now. The mountain-top experiences continue!
This year Lutheridge is having a quilt auction to raise money for camper scholarships, assisting children who might not otherwise be able to attend a week of camp in the summer. Church groups and individuals alike were asked to contribute quilts. My thinking was, since this was an
auction and the quilts would be bid on by quilters and non-quilters alike, the quilt should be eye-catching and fun to look at. What is more fun to look at than a Picture Play quilt?
Your class in Williamsburg was the springboard for me to turn my thoughts into action and see this quilt become a reality. It was my joy to donate it for such a great cause so that more children may make memories to last a lifetime in a truly special place!!
Thank you for a truly inspirational class. Now I'm going to make one for me to keep!
This quilt was made with the "Hugs & Kisses" pattern in Picture Play Quilts
