I love this dark blue batik that I chose, but I wanted to give my jacket a little sparkle. I used a Moda Marble with metallic swirls for the base jacket to give it a little "bling, bling." (It was also less expensive than the batik so I saved a little money on fabric too.) I used it for the neckband and cuffs (see inset photo). The colors go great with my blue jean wardrobe, but would also look great with dress slacks.
I haven't sewn clothes since I was a child and was a little apprehensive about working with the tissue pattern. I can't believe how easy it was. The jacket fits perfect. I don't know why, but I found it very relaxing to sew on the "lunatic fringe." I love petting my jacket when I wear it. The fringe has such a wonderful feel to it. I also love that your fringing technique stops the fabric from fraying. My washer and dryer are happy about that.
